Krzysztof skibas jacket bought for more than pln 13 000 during fashion with heart auction

We get involved in charity actions very often, that’s why, this time, we also decided to join an event organised for a good cause – collecting money for the Hospice Foundation in Gdańsk. During an auction, which was a part of “Fashion With Heart” action, we bought Krzysztof Skiba’s jacket, thanks to which, PLN 13 100 was donated to Father Eugeniusz Dutkiewicz SAC Hospice for children and adults in Gdańsk.

“Fashion With Heart” for patients of Dutkiewicz Hospice

The third edition of “Fashion with Heart” event, the goal of which was to support the Hospice Foundation and Father Eugeniusz Dutkiewicz SAC Hospice in Gdańsk, is behind us. Tens of Polish music, movie, TV, literature and fashion stars got involved in the auctions which took place from 15 July to 15 August by donating their unique clothes, jewellery, accessories, gadgets or books.

The goal of the organisers was to fundraise PLN 100,000 for current activities of the biggest and the oldest hospice in Pomerania. Each it takes care of more than 1000 patients, free of charge, in two home hospices for both children and adults as well as in the hospice centre in Gdańsk, which is located at Kopernik Street 6. The Hospice Foundation plans to create a system of so-called respite care to help the terminally ill and their loved ones even more comprehensively.

PLN 13,100 for Krzysztof Skiba’s jacket

One of the stars who donated items for the auction was Krzysztof Skiba. The singer contributed his jacket and a book “Skiba. Still free. An autobiography of a troublemaker” with his autograph. The musician and the songwriter from Gdańsk, well-known as a member of Big Cyc band, is also a columnist and an author of short stories published, among others, in “Tygodnik Literacki”, “Przekrój” and “Gazeta Wyborcza”. His radio broadcasts in Radio Gdańsk may also be familiar to the local listeners. Over the years, there have been many titles he published, numerous radio and TV stations he worked for, different programmes he hosted or created, sharing his sense of humour and sarcastic comments about the current reality with the audience.

Thanks to obtaining the artist’s jacket by JohnnyBros, PLN 13,100 was donated to the charity. During his visit at JohnnyBros office, Krzystof Skiba, in person, gave the items bought during the auction to the Pawlukiewicz brothers – Julian (JohnnyBros CEO) and Jan (JohnnyBros COO).

Charity “trophies” of JohnnyBros.

Throughout each year, we try to regularly take part in different types of charity events as well as initiate charity actions ourselves. Thanks to such an approach, we have gathered quite a few unique items in our collection. Since sport is our passion, most of them are connected to this hobby. The “trophies” which you can find in our office include:

  • A shirt with Cristiano Ronaldo’s autograph. Cristiano Ronaldo is a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, five-time Champions League winner and the winner of UEFA European Championship 2016. Our shirt is a Portuguese national team match shirt from 2016, when Ronaldo led Portugal to victory during UEFA European Championship. The money from the auction, in the amount of PLN 2,250, was donated to the Hospice Foundation and Father Eugeniusz Dutkiewicz SAC Hospice.
  • Robert Lewandowski’s shoes with his autograph Robert Lewandowski is considered by many to be one of the best football players in the world and centre forwards in history. His shoes were sold during an auction, which was conducted by Radio Gdańsk on air, as a part of a Fields of Hope (Pola Nadziei) action, for PLN 13,000 (in the end, as the auction winner, JohnnyBros donated PLN 16,000). Fields of Hope is an annual event initiated by hospices in order to collect money for their patients and draw people’s attention to the idea of hospice care.
  • A ball signed by Piotr Nowakowski and a national team shirt with the signatures of the players - these presents were donated for a charity auction by two-time world volleyball champion, who participated in 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship. JohnnyBros became a proud owner of the trophies by winning an auction and donating PLN 11,111. The total sum of collected money was donated to Father Eugeniusz Dutkiewicz SAC Hospice for Children and Adults, which was celebrating its 35 anniversary.

We hope to add more items to our collection and we will be happy to participate in many more charity auctions in the future.
